Co-construction of Knowledge : Social Constructivist School Age Program

Children need the FREEDOM to appreciate the infinite resources of their HANDS, their EYES, and their EARS, the resources of FORMS, MATERIALS, SOUNDS, and COLORS.

In a social constructivist school age program, children are observing, exploring, inquiring, co-constructing their own knowledge through experiences and interacting with peers, educators and the environment. The educator creates provocation and than set-up the environment with materials and resources for students to explore with. The educators interacts with the students rather than dictates.
